I graduated from Calvin College in 2016 with a Liberal Arts/Bachelor’s degree in psychology. However, after working as a preschool teacher’s assistant and completing my TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language) certification, I moved to Hungary to further pursue work in pedagogy in 2017. It was here in Budapest that I began teaching English at a bilingual preschool program for three years. After this, I transitioned to teaching English at a bilingual primary school, where I taught the language to lower primary school students in a variety of subjects (math, music, art, etc) for another two years. Soon after, I began substitute teaching for lower and upper primary school while balancing my studies in ELTE’s MA psychology program. After my first year at ELTE, I began teaching English at a secondary school level in 2023. However, it wasn’t until I began working at Regi, in 2024, that I really fell in love with the work. I am happy to be able to say that it is now my 3rd year in this community. I also continue to enjoy being able to incorporate psychological elements into the way I approach pedagogy.
